CFD Captain Herbie Johnson Funeral part 2
I just received these photos from Martin Nowak. They were taken at the funeral for Chicago Fire Captain Herbert Johnson. The fire trucks were parked near the church, and it was really impressive to see how many departments from all over the state came out to pay their respects.
Let me walk you through the pictures in order:
The first photo shows a whole lineup of fire trucks. It’s such an amazing sight to see so many emergency vehicles gathered together like that.
Next is Truck 39. It’s standing there proudly, looking ready for action even though it’s part of the ceremony today.
Then there’s Frankfort Engine 3. I remember hearing about them before; they’re one of the departments that made the trip out here.
After that, you can see the rear of Tower 39. The way it’s positioned makes it look almost like it’s guarding the area.
There’s also a picture featuring Ambulance 8 alongside Tower 39. You get a sense of how everything works together during emergencies.
In another shot, we’re looking down Western Street—or at least I think that’s what it is—and there are two Chicago Fire Department trucks with an American flag draped between them. That adds such a patriotic touch to the scene.
Oh, and earlier today, Martin had already shared some initial images which you can check out [HERE]. If you want to see even more pictures, he has more available [HERE].

It’s heartwarming to witness this level of camaraderie within the firefighting community. These men and women dedicate their lives to protecting others, and events like this funeral remind us just how important they are.
Anyway, I’ll let you go now, but if you have any questions or need anything else, feel free to reach out! Take care.
