New engine for Monee
I just got some info from Martin Nowak about the new fire engine in Monee. They've got a shiny new Engine 567, a 2014 Pierce Arrow XT with 1500 gallons per minute, 1000 gallons per minute, 50 gallons for foam, and another 50 gallons for water. This one is replacing their older Engine 562, which was a 1994 Pierce Saber. They're selling that old one off, but I'm sure it still has a lot of history to it.
Martin took some great photos of the new rig along with Kevin Griffin. If you want to see more, there's an album on Facebook where they've shared a bunch of images of both engines. You can check it out here: [Facebook Album Link]. There are so many cool angles and details in those photos!
I’ve also been looking through these pictures, and I have to say, the new engine looks absolutely fantastic. It’s like stepping into the future of firefighting! The design is sleek, and you can tell they didn’t hold back when it came to equipping this thing. It’s not just about the power though—it’s the little things too, like how clean everything looks, and how well everything seems to fit together.
Martin’s photos really capture the essence of this beast. In one shot, you can see the engine parked in front of the station, and it just stands out against the background. Kevin’s shots are equally impressive. There’s one where he managed to get a full view of the front, showing off all the intricate details, including the headlights that look almost futuristic. Another image focuses on the side, highlighting the ladder and the storage compartments—perfect for keeping all the necessary gear organized and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
One thing that struck me while going through these photos is how much effort clearly went into making this engine not only functional but also visually appealing. Whether it’s the color scheme or the way everything is laid out, it’s obvious that this isn’t just another vehicle—they’ve put their heart into this.
Anyway, I’m excited to see what else comes out of Monee’s fire department in the coming months. Who knows, maybe they’ll upgrade even further down the line. For now, though, this new engine is definitely something to be proud of!
