It’s been over a year since the world was turned upside down by the global spread of COVID-19. No one could have predicted just how deeply it would impact every aspect of our lives. While safety measures, CDC guidelines, and virtual communication are still part of our daily routines, the initial fear and uncertainty have gradually transformed into action, adaptation, and hope. This is especially true for MACC members like Nationwide Coils, who have shown remarkable resilience throughout this challenging time.

How did your business respond during the early months of the pandemic?

Under FDA guidelines, we were classified as an essential business, allowing us to continue serving our customers—many of whom were also considered essential. Hospitals, in particular, relied heavily on us to maintain their indoor climate control systems, which were critical during the crisis.

While business slowed compared to 2019, we never stopped production and maintained full operations throughout the pandemic. We made some adjustments in corporate spending and employee benefits, but we were able to keep all our staff employed and fully operational.

Did any of your employees test positive for COVID-19, and how did you manage that?

There were a few confirmed cases among our team, and those individuals followed CDC protocols by quarantining. Fortunately, these incidents didn’t disrupt our daily operations, and we remained strong as a team throughout the entire process.

When did you start seeing a noticeable recovery in your business, and what changed?

We saw little change in the early part of 2021, but things started to pick up around mid-February when a severe winter storm hit the central U.S., especially Texas. That event led to a significant increase in demand for our services.

With nearly two decades in business, we’ve learned to expect ups and downs. As vaccination efforts continue and life slowly returns to normal, we’re cautiously optimistic about the future.

What does the coming year look like for Nationwide Coils?

The outlook for 2022 is very positive. We've secured several major contracts, expanded our team, and are excited to move our New York headquarters to a larger, more efficient space. It's an exciting time for growth and new opportunities.
