As we look back on a year like no other, we're proud to share how we adapted and thrived through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Read our exclusive interview in “Meeting the Challenges of COVID-19: MACC Members Reflect on Their Experiences of the Past Year.†It's been over a year since the world was turned upside down by the global spread of the novel coronavirus. No one could have predicted how deeply it would reshape every part of our lives—work, school, healthcare, and more. While safety measures and virtual communication are still part of our daily routine, the initial fear and uncertainty have gradually shifted into resilience, innovation, and hope. Many MACC members, including Nationwide Coils, have shown remarkable adaptability during these times. How did your business cope during the early days of the pandemic? As an essential business under FDA guidelines, we were able to continue operating and supporting our customers, many of whom were also considered essential. Hospitals, in particular, relied on us to keep their indoor environments safe and comfortable during the crisis. Although there was a slowdown compared to 2019, we never had to halt production and maintained full operations throughout the pandemic. We made some cost-conscious decisions, like reducing non-essential spending and adjusting employee benefits, but we kept all our staff on board and fully engaged. Did any of your employees test positive for COVID-19, and how did you manage that? We had a few confirmed cases, and those affected followed CDC quarantine protocols. Fortunately, this didn’t disrupt our operations, and we remained strong as a team throughout the entire process. When did you start seeing a real turnaround in your business, and what changed? Business remained steady in the early months of 2021, but things really picked up after a major winter storm hit the central U.S., especially Texas. The increased demand for HVAC solutions led to a noticeable boost in activity. With nearly two decades of experience, we've learned to expect ups and downs. As more people get vaccinated and restrictions ease, we're cautiously optimistic about the road ahead. What does the future hold for your company? The outlook is very positive. We’ve secured new large-scale contracts, expanded our team, and are excited to move our New York headquarters to a larger space to accommodate our growth.
