Long Grove structure fire 9-15-11

This morning, the Long Grove Fire Department got a call about a house on fire at 1889 Checker Road. Over the past couple of weeks, they had been using the vacant house for training purposes, with participation from eight other departments conducting multiple interior drills each day. The training concluded yesterday, and the plan was to burn the house down this Saturday morning for the developer, with local residents invited to attend. However, this morning’s incident was unexpected. A neighbor initially thought the fire department might still be conducting training and hesitated to report it. Realizing the situation was serious, she called in the alarm. Long Grove responded with their full force, including Tanker 55, since there are no nearby hydrants. As the fire engines left the station, the first responders quickly identified a working fire at the north end of the house, where a large stack of wooden pallets had been stored. By the time firefighters arrived, the garage was already destroyed, and the pallet storage area was heavily ablaze. Long Grove Squad 55 was positioned in the driveway, supplying five different lines to tackle the fire. Meanwhile, Long Grove Tanker 55 was on site to provide 3,000 gallons of water. With the fire raging, Tankers were requested from neighboring towns like Prospect Heights and Fox Lake to ensure enough water supply to prevent the structure from collapsing prematurely. Engines from Buffalo Grove and Palatine joined the effort, along with an ambulance from Arlington Heights for firefighter rehabilitation. Despite the intensity of the flames, much of the house was salvaged and is set to be burned down this Saturday as planned. Tankers continued to shuttle water to the scene, with Prospect Heights Tanker 9 bringing an additional 3,000 gallons, ensuring continuous support as Long Grove’s initial supply ran low. The Fox Lake tanker also made multiple trips to refill its 3,000-gallon capacity, navigating the half-mile gravel driveway to reach the property. As the fire was brought under control, firefighters focused on extinguishing hotspots and applying foam to conserve water. The pallet pile smoldered as crews worked diligently to eliminate any remaining fire hazards. Ultimately, the bulk of the house remained intact, though significantly damaged. Photographers Larry Shapiro and Tim Olk were present to document the intense firefighting efforts. Their vivid images capture the dedication and skill of the Long Grove Fire Department and their collaborators. In addition to the dramatic events today, the community has witnessed extensive training exercises over the past two weeks. These sessions involved Buffalo Grove’s reserve engine and multiple evolutions per day, including interior fires and victim searches. Participating departments included Wheeling, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Arlington Heights, Lake Zurich, Buffalo Grove, and Barrington. The training culminated in high-intensity scenarios, with fires growing in intensity as the final days approached. One of the most challenging exercises took place in a first-floor room, testing the limits of both equipment and personnel. The Long Grove Fire Department’s efforts have clearly paid off, as they managed to save significant portions of the house while successfully containing the blaze. This incident serves as a testament to their preparedness and teamwork, skills honed through rigorous training and real-world experience.

Printing And Packaging Used Hot Melt Adhesive

EVA hot melt adhesive: It produces hot adhesion when heated and becomes solid when cooled to produce bonding function.

Polyolefin hot melt adhesive: compared with EVA type hot melt adhesive, it is suitable for a wide range of materials, with less adhesive amount and high bonding strength.

Advantages of using hot melt adhesive for packaging:

1) Beautiful, does not affect the packaging of the printing scheme;

2) Convenient transportation protection, storage management;

3) Conducive to automation equipment, improve efficiency;

4) Green environmental protection, resource conservation, environmental protection.
