On Saturday morning, Tim Olk captured a series of powerful images from a Still & Box Alarm at a vacant three-story courtyard building located at 63rd and Stewart. The Chicago Fire Department responded swiftly to the incident, with firefighters working tirelessly to contain the flames.
One photo shows firefighters directing a water line toward one of the upper floors, demonstrating their quick response and dedication. Another image highlights Squad 5A operating in Sector 3, while an engine company directs a line into a second-floor window, showing coordinated efforts across different units.
Multiple lines are seen aimed at the building, targeting the remaining fires and showcasing the intensity of the operation. A Tower Ladder 37 is positioned in the courtyard, ready to assist in any necessary rescue or firefighting efforts. Meanwhile, members of Squad 5 use an acetylene torch to remove metal gates from the entrance, clearing the way for further access.
