Tinley Park barn fire 4-3-12

On April 3, 2012, around midnight, Tinley Park Fire Department was called to a reported silo fire in the 7300 block of 191st Street, located in unincorporated Will County. Upon arrival, Truck Company 204 found an abandoned barn fully engulfed and spreading to an attached silo. Engine Company 202 immediately began using their deck gun to attack the flames, while crews advanced three handlines to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to a nearby smaller shed. Additional support was provided by mutual-aid units from Frankfort, Mokena, Country Club Hills, and Hazel Crest. The scene was intense, with the fire burning fiercely and smoke rising high into the night sky. The firefighters worked quickly and efficiently, demonstrating professionalism and dedication under challenging conditions. Several photos from the incident were taken by Karl Klotz, capturing key moments of the response. [Image: Tinley Park Engine Co. 202 leading out up the driveway.
