China's first CS100ET high-pressure annular down-the-hole drilling rig has successfully completed its trial run at the Fankou Lead-Zinc Mine in Shaoguan, Guangdong. This marks a significant milestone in the country's mining equipment development, as the machine is designed to meet the unique challenges of underground mining operations.
According to reports from industry insiders, the CS100ET combines the best features of similar foreign models while introducing improvements in efficiency, energy conservation, and automation. With a wide range of applications, the rig is expected to be widely adopted across China’s mining sector in the near future.
Developed by Hunan Nonferrous Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., the CS100ET was specifically engineered for lead and zinc mine environments. It features a crawler-style self-propelled chassis that allows for both diesel and electric power options, ensuring flexibility and mobility even in the most challenging underground conditions. The drill arm can rotate 360 degrees, making it ideal for creating precise circular holes in confined spaces. Additionally, the entire system is computer-controlled, offering real-time monitoring, malfunction protection, and fault alarm functions for enhanced safety and reliability.
During the trial, the rig was tested on a 120-meter-long working face within the Fankou mine. It demonstrated excellent performance, including smooth operation, high drilling accuracy, and rapid execution. Notably, it could complete a 10-minute drilling cycle in just 1.5 minutes using pneumatic methods. Industry experts and on-site workers alike have given the machine high praise for its precision, speed, and adaptability.
