Last week, the domestic chloro-alkali market showed mixed performance across different products. The caustic soda market remained weak, with local prices declining. In Fujian, the mainstream price for 30% diaphragm alkali was around 600 yuan per ton, while 32% ion-exchange membrane alkali ranged between 600 and 650 yuan. In Hebei, 30% diaphragm alkali was priced at 480–500 yuan, and 32% ion-exchange membrane alkali was around 530 yuan. In Zhejiang, 30% diaphragm alkali was around 620 yuan, and 32% ion-exchange membrane alkali was about 650 yuan. Hubei saw 30% diaphragm alkali at 540–560 yuan, while Henan’s 30% diaphragm alkali was 450 yuan, with 32% ion-exchange membrane alkali at 520–530 yuan.
The liquid chlorine market remained stable overall, with some regional declines. In Shandong, the mainstream price was 1,200–1,500 yuan, while in Zhejiang, it was 1,300–1,400 yuan, with some high-end offers reaching 1,600 yuan. Hebei’s liquid chlorine was around 1,400 yuan, and Fujian’s was 1,000–1,300 yuan.
Hydrochloric acid prices remained relatively stable. In Hubei, synthetic acid was priced at 460–500 yuan, while in Shandong, synthetic acid ranged from 450–480 yuan, with byproduct acid at 300 yuan. Hebei’s hydrochloric acid was between 450–500 yuan, and in Fujian, synthetic acid was 400–500 yuan, with byproduct acid at 350 yuan.
The calcium carbide market entered a low consolidation phase. Prices dropped by 50 yuan in most regions, with eastern China seeing a decline of 50–100 yuan. In the northwest, calcium carbide was maintained at 1,900–2,050 yuan. In Guizhou, the price was 2,250 yuan, and in Sichuan, it was 2,400–2,450 yuan. Northern China saw prices between 2,100–2,300 yuan, while southern China was 2,550–2,600 yuan. In the northeast, prices fell by 50 yuan, with a factory price of 2,300–2,400 yuan. In eastern China, particularly in Zhejiang and Jiangsu, the price was 2,550–2,600 yuan.
The chloroacetic acid market remained stable, with slow growth. In Henan, the factory price was around 7,500 yuan, while in the southwest, it was approximately 7,600 yuan.
Methylene chloride prices dropped sharply, with northern prices falling to 4,500–4,800 yuan, and eastern China seeing water-based methylene chloride at around 5,000 yuan. Trichloromethane prices also declined, with bulk water in eastern China dropping to 6,600 yuan. However, industry sources indicated that this drop was part of seasonal market adjustment. Once downstream demand picks up, prices are expected to rebound.
