House fire in Shorewood, IL 7-30-24

This just in from the Troy Fire Protection District's Facebook page: Troy fire units were dispatched this afternoon to a structure fire reported in the 1100 block of Harvest Drive. Upon arrival, initial crews encountered a small fire confined to the kitchen area. Thanks to their swift action, the flames were quickly extinguished within minutes. Auto-aid support came in from neighboring departments including Minooka, Plainfield, Channahon, and Lockport, who helped with overhaul operations and ensured proper ventilation of the home. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported at the scene. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Troy fire marshals. As shared by Jim Skrabel, the response time and teamwork between Troy and surrounding departments were commendable.
