House fire in Shorewood, IL 7-30-24

This just in from the Troy Fire Protection District's Facebook page: Troy fire units were dispatched this afternoon to a structure fire reported in the 1100 block of Harvest Drive. Upon arrival, first responding crews encountered a small fire confined to the kitchen area. Thanks to their swift action, the flames were quickly extinguished within a matter of minutes. Auto-aid support was provided by firefighters from neighboring departments including Minooka, Plainfield, Channahon, and Lockport, who assisted with overhaul operations and ensuring proper ventilation of the home. Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries sustained during the incident. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by officials from the Troy Fire Department. As shared by Jim Skrabel, Troy firefighters wasted no time in containing the kitchen blaze on Harvest Drive.
