Zhejiang University successfully developed the world's largest fixed hydrogen tank

The research team led by Professor Zheng Jinyang of the Institute of Chemical Machinery of Zhejiang University recently developed the world's largest fixed hydrogen storage tank, the 5,000-liter stationary high-pressure (42 MPa) hydrogen storage tank.

It is understood that before this, the United States used advanced technology to only achieve a volume of 411 liters of high-pressure (42 MPa) hydrogen storage tanks. At present, the world's largest fixed hydrogen storage tank successfully developed by the Institute of Chemical Engineering of Zhejiang University has been installed in the first hydrogen production and refueling station in Zhongguancun Yongfeng Hi-tech Development Zone in Beijing and has begun serving the Olympics.

According to Professor Zheng Jinyang, hydrogen vehicles must be used by the people. In addition to lowering costs and improving reliability, they must also make the inflating process as fast and easy as car refueling. The high-pressure hydrogen storage tank designed by Zhejiang University has met this requirement. It inflates a bus for only 15 minutes.
