Working fire in Park Ridge, 2-18-16
On Thursday, February 18, 2016, the Park Ridge Fire Department responded to a house fire at 105 Elmore Street. The RED Center received an emergency call at 7:43 a.m., reporting a fire with potential for two people trapped inside. As a result, the department dispatched a Code 4, indicating a working fire. Just minutes later, a neighbor informed responders that the residents had safely evacuated the home.
Park Ridge Battalion 35 arrived on scene and reported heavy flames in the rear of the structure, with exposures on both sides. Fire crews quickly worked to bring the fire under control, successfully containing the flames and preventing further spread. The two residents were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but declined transportation to the hospital.
The incident drew mutual aid from nearby departments, including Rosemont, Niles, Des Plaines, Morton Grove, and the North Maine Fire Protection District. Fireground audio is available below for those interested in hearing the real-time response.
