Medium and large passenger car braking methods

Do not step on the brake pedal excessively when parking, otherwise it will increase the wear of tires and brake friction shoes. This type of vehicle is equipped with a driving brake cylinder that uses compressed air to assist braking.

40-50 meters before the parking position, step on the brake pedal half or 1/3. 5-6 meters before the parking position, release the pedal approximately halfway. While parking, gently step on the pedal to stop the vehicle. The complete release of the brake pedal immediately after braking will cause the vehicle to exceed a predetermined stopping point, and sufficient care should be taken.

WARNING Excessive use of pneumatic brakes (interactively stepping on and releasing the pedal) consumes more air and reduces the braking force. Except for emergency situations, full braking should be avoided. Full braking or sudden braking can cause the vehicle to lose control due to slip. It is especially dangerous when driving in heavy rain or on wet roads.

Before driving down a long slope or steep slope downhill, gently step on the brake pedal to confirm that the brake system is working properly. When driving down a long slope, use the exhaust brake and engine brake. On the vehicle equipped with a retarder, open the retarder switch and turn on the auxiliary brake.

WARNING Using the foot brake several times in a row can cause overheating and cause the foot brake to malfunction.

Braking in wet water and braking in deep water will make the wheel brake water. After driving deep water, confirm that there is no other vehicle around, gently use the brake, and observe the working condition of the brake. If the brake is not working properly, gently operate the brake while carefully driving the vehicle, and repeat this operation until the brake returns to normal.

After warning the brake wet, the braking distance of the vehicle will increase greatly than usual.
