How to detect the gear shift fault?

How to detect the gear shift fault? The transmission is one of the most important components in the automotive powertrain. The automobile transmission changes the transmission ratio and changes the torque of the crankshaft of the engine to meet the different requirements of the driving wheel traction and the vehicle speed under different driving conditions such as starting, accelerating, driving and overcoming various road obstacles. Xiao Bian talks about life: We change the driving state of the car through a gear. The object of the shift is the transmission of the car.

The precautions for driving safety are well known, but there are few problems with transmission failures. If the transmission fails, the danger of transmission is huge.

How can we know if the car has a gear shift fault?

We control the transmission by changing gear changes. When the vehicle is moving, when the load suddenly increases or the vehicle vibrates violently, the automatic return of the joystick from the engaged gear to the neutral position means that the transmission skips. We know that in the early stages of learning to drive, manual shifts sometimes occur. The transmission jumper is forced out of gear, and is directly linked back to neutral.

Do not panic when the transmission has a skip failure. We must first step on the brakes and let the car slowly stop on the side of the road, and then check the fault again.

l) When a certain gear jump is found, the gear lever is still switched into the gear, and then the transmission cover is removed to see the gear meshing condition. If the meshing is good, the gear shift fork shaft lock mechanism should be checked;

2) If the shift fork test positioning device is used to push the jump gear, if the positioning is not good, remove the shift fork shaft and check the positioning ball and the spring. If the spring is too soft or broken, replace it. If the gear shift fork shaft groove worn out should be repaired or replaced;

3) Check the meshing condition of the gears. If the gears are not fully meshed, push the gears or toothed sleeves that are shifted by hand to properly mesh. Check whether the transmission forks are bent or worn or not, and whether the shift fork fixing screws are loose, and the fork ends and gears. Casting gap is too large. If the shift fork should be bent; if the lower end of the shift fork is worn out and the slide gear groove is loose, repair should be done;

4) If the speed change mechanism is good, and the gear or toothed sleeve can be properly meshed, then check whether the gear wears into a conical shape. If it is seriously worn, replace it;

5) Check the wear of the bearing and the shaft. If the shaft is worn badly, the bearing loose or the shift shaft moves along the axial direction, it should be removed for repair or replacement;

6) Check the working status of the synchronizer, and if it is faulty, repair or replace it;

7) Check the transmission fixing bolts. If loose, tighten them.

These failure checks are what we can do when we wait for the trailer. Although we do not need to know too much professional knowledge, we must at least know what direction the car needs to be repaired, and be aware of it.
