CFD MVA with extrication, 5/7/16
On Saturday morning, May 7th, 2016, I was involved in a tragic accident on the eastbound JFK Expressway near Sayre. A pin (likely referring to a vehicle or object that caused the crash) struck me, and regrettably, there was one fatality as a result. I managed to capture some powerful images of the extrication process and the overall scene, including how the emergency vehicles were positioned. It was my first time witnessing battery-powered spreaders and tools in action, and it looked like they used two sets of spreaders along with a sawzall. While this was a deeply upsetting event, I believe the photos could serve as valuable training material for others. I'm sharing them here in hopes that they can help raise awareness and improve response techniques.
