Acura's Chinese-style dilemma

I believe that at home, if it is not the recent "Eastern Ferrari" NSX frequent appearances, many people do not even know this Japanese luxury car brand - Acura.

Although the brand itself originated from Honda, Yangge's body has blood in North America. From the imagination in the Honda meeting room to the release of the first model Acura Legend in 1986, it can be said that the birth of Acura was accompanied by the Japanese luxury brand strategy of the top three, which completely changed the North American luxury car structure. The era of hands over clouds is always gone.

In the 1990s, along with the reform and opening up, a large number of "imported cars" came to the mainland through various channels. This includes the famous "Lexico". In those days, Lexus's body always carried elegant auras of various identities on the street, and the yangko was only occasionally exposed. In exchange for the fans on the street, “Is that Akula?”.

In 2006, 20 years after the brand was founded, Yingge officially came to mainland China. To tell the truth, Che Shijun first saw the real car of Yingge, but it was only in 2009. At that time, I just came out of a shopping mall in the east of the city. As I walked through the parking lot, my friends suddenly called out, "Look!" I looked in the direction, and the dark-green sedan (most likely TL in retrospect) stopped quietly in my own corner and was out of tune with the surrounding cars. "The people who drive this car are particularly low-key." This is a friend's only comment. To be honest, I cannot agree with my friend's point of view until now. How could the car be low-keyed? The TL could not be low-keyed just because of the air intake grille that could cut through the air. Unexpectedly, Acura really has been “low-keyed” in China for a full 10 years. 2016 is the tenth year that Songko entered China. It has been experiencing an unprecedented Chinese-style dilemma in North America.

Product weakness?

I believe that if anyone says that the product of Yingge is weak, most people will not agree. Because there are too many aspects of what can be called product power, even if it is not the benchmark, at least it cannot be everything. Take the SH-AWD's four-wheel-drive system on the MDX for instance. Although it's a far cry from a purebred sport utility vehicle, as an urban-oriented medium-to-large SUV, MDX's ability to walk in North America's snow is easy. However, what is the use of this? Compared to North America, where extreme weather is frequent, mainland China is obviously more moderate, and the four-wheel drive system in the 4S store that keeps propagating you is nothing more than a grinding ear. However, if you look at the vehicle configuration that the Chinese people are very concerned about, you will find another strange phenomenon. In terms of ILX 2.0, comparing with the Lexus CT 200h, you will find that almost the same guide price, ILX has a lot more movement and comfort configuration than CT, and ILX is a full circle than CT. However, CT's hybrid system has suddenly increased its own product strength. It is not difficult to explain that CT can often be seen passing quietly on the street, and the probability of meeting ILX is not much higher than that of the ultra-luxury brand. If you compare the ILX and the ES 200 entry-level models at the same price level, the problem is even more complicated. This is what I want to say next.
