3-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 6-16-17
Hey everyone,
Just got these shots from Larry Shapiro earlier today. They’re from a big commercial building fire that happened yesterday morning (June 16, 2017) on the West Side. The address was 3323 W. Augusta, and it was quite the scene. Here’s what Larry had to say about it:
“Here are some late photos of the 3-11 alarm at 3323 W. Augusta this morning. The 3-11 alarm was knocked down by 4-1-1, with Father Mulcrone on site as well.â€
I’ve included a few of the photos below. You can see Squad 2A, which is mounted on a Rosenbauer snorkel, along with several other units that were part of the response. There’s also a great shot of Tower Ladder 23 deploying its master streams to tackle the blaze. If you look closely, you’ll notice Engine 57 feeding Squad 2A with water—a pretty cool detail.
There’s another interesting photo featuring Father Thomas Mulcrone, who serves as the Chicago FD chaplain. He was there providing support, as he often does during major incidents like this one. And if you’re into air mask service units, there’s a fantastic shot of Air Mask Service Unit 646, too.
