Chicago Still Alarm 2-9-12

Josh Boyajian was on scene with Chicago companies tonight at a still alarm, and here's what he observed: Chicago Fire Department was called to a still alarm at 6220 S. Austin Ave around 7:00 PM. Upon arrival, Engine 127 found smoke coming from the attic of a 1.5-story single-family home. Truck 60 took control of Sector 1 and began laddering the roof, while Engine 32 led out a line alongside Engine 127. Here are some photos I captured from the scene. Truck 60 was positioned with the main line on the roof, Engine 127 was advancing the line, and Engine 32 was also working with their lines. Engine 127 tapped into a hydrant to support the operation. It’s always interesting to see how quickly crews respond and how efficiently they work under pressure. The fire was contained, and no injuries were reported. These images give a good sense of the scene and the efforts made by the firefighters.
