Bestobell Marine Receives Order for Fuel Gas Valves for a New LNG Power Tanker
Recently, Bestobell Marine, a supplier of marine cryogenic shut-off valves and check valves, received orders to supply fuel gas valves for a group of newly-built LNG-powered tankers.
It is reported that the new ships are two 15,000 dwt 1A ice-grade asphalt tankers ordered by Desgagnés of Canada. They will be built by the Besiktas shipyard in Turkey and will be equipped with dual fuel engines, LNG and fuel oil, and gas storage tanks on the deck. The capacity is up to 600 cubic meters.
In addition, Bestobell Marine received another order for cryogenic shut-off valves and check valves for the fuel gas system of the second Gotland ferry that will be built by GSI. The LNG-powered high-speed passenger ferryboat of Rederi AB Gotland in Sweden is expected to be delivered in 2018, with a length of 200 meters and a construction investment of approximately $135 million.
