Older engines leave the area
Bill Friedrich shared some updates about two local fire departments that have recently sold their retired engines.
The first one is a 1993 E-One Cyclone pumper from the Addison Fire Department. It has been sold and will be shipped to Argentina. The engine is equipped with a Detroit Series 60 engine, an Allison HD740 transmission, and a Hale pump capable of delivering 1,250 GPM with a 750-gallon water tank. This unit was a reliable workhorse for many years before being retired.

Another sale involves a 1994 HME/Luverne rescue pumper from the Flossmoor Fire Department. This unit has been sold to the Soldier Township Fire Department near Topeka, Kansas. While details on its specifications aren’t provided, it’s known to have served Flossmoor well over the years.

Both transactions were managed by B&P Fire Apparatus, a trusted dealer in fire equipment sales and relocations. These kinds of sales are common as departments upgrade their fleets, and it's always interesting to see where these units end up next.
