In the era of new energy vehicles, "Elephants" and "Ants" dance together

When the “first ancestor” of the automobile industry in Germany participated in the organizer’s auto forum at the Western Expo, three new energy vehicles of Sichuan’s own brands were on display at a distance of 100 meters.

The editors' press of the forum is a journey to start thinking, especially for underdeveloped and under-imposed regions such as the West.

The forum is also a "key" that opens the future. Through the setting and solution of the topics, the organizers and the parties to the debate are all seeking new development opportunities and paths.

In the past few days, one after another "thought field" such as the summit and the forum has brought us into a "future world." Let us follow the voice of the forum and touch the future of Western development in the “Western World Expo Forum Imagination” column.

The history of the world’s automobile industry has been in the making of the first car from Germany for more than 120 years. The development of the automotive industry in western China has been nearly a hundred years late.

This does not affect the "elephant" and "ant" handshake.

On October 17, the Quality Management Center of the German Automobile Industry Association and the Sichuan Automobile Engineering Society jointly sponsored a seminar on the “Auto Industry in Western China” with the theme of cooperation and development of the traditional automotive industry. However, the most cutting-edge topic of “new energy vehicles” has attracted attention outside the forum.

At the time of the seminar, at a hundred meters away, on the booth of the West China Expo, Sichuan Automobile Industry Group was demonstrating three new energy vehicles that had just been successfully assembled. On the background big screen, the words "Implementing 'curve overtaking'" kept rolling...

One hundred years of world auto industry has stepped on the historical node of “turning to new energy vehicles”. In front of the huge body of the "Elephant" of the German car, is the "small ant" of the Sichuan automobile light and flexible? Can "elephant" and "ant" stand together in the center of the stage to dance?

Fashion "dancing music": New energy vehicles favored outside the forum

There was no discussion about new energy vehicles at the auto forum. However, when Romer Ting, a researcher at the China Europe International Business School, said from the forum, new energy vehicles will be a trend. Between 2010 and 2020, many emerging supporting industries will gather around the world and cross-border cooperation in the industrial chain will be formed.

Xu Bin, as the general manager of a car moulding company in Chengdu, made the viewpoint even more aggressive: “In the hundred-year auto industry, China is lagging behind. Now that traditional cars have started to decline, China, especially the Western auto industry, has no traditional concerns and can completely cross it. It will occupy a place on the world stage for the development of new energy vehicles."

The “step-by-step past” deductive entity has actually appeared on the booth of the West China Expo that is more than 100 meters away.

Chuanqi Group's booth was crowded with people. 11 kinds of public transport buses, F99 city multi-functional off-road vehicles, M72 mini-cars and other three new energy vehicles, so that the public have widened their eyes.

Sichuan Automobile Group, which was established in 1990, once produced and sold the “Yuma” brand off-road vehicle that took second place in the country. However, because he did not master the core technologies such as the engine, the "wild horse" was silent for seven years. In 2005, the reorganized Sichuan Automobile resumed bus production and this year finally launched the Mustang F99 off-road vehicle.

The "wild horse" is not simply returning, but is standing at a new high. Cao Guodong, executive vice president of Sichuan Steam and head of the new energy auto project team, said that the establishment of a new energy vehicle development strategy was accompanied by the return of Sichuan Auto. Sichuan Auto aims to build a “new energy automotive industry base” and has been recognized by the Central Government, Sichuan Province, and Chengdu City. “The turning point of history has just begun. Social supporting resources have not kept pace. Sichuan Automobile’s new energy vehicles will use urban buses as a breakthrough.” Cao Guodong introduced that at the end of the year, 11 meters of buses will be in Chengdu, 16 and 20 bus lines. Put it on.

At the show, the M72 mini car surprised visitors. “At this time, two M72 prototypes are being shipped to the US cargo ship. After passing the tests, they will be able to enter the US market. It is planned to mass produce next year and it is expected to produce 100,000 vehicles per year,” said Chao Guodong proudly.

“How fast is the pace of the new technological revolution? Sometimes it is hard for us to imagine that it may take only 3-5 years that new energy vehicles will be accepted by the Chinese people.” Chao Guodong predicted that the Sichuan Automobile brand Mustang may help Sichuan Auto really stands on the world auto stage.

Sichuan steam is not alone.

Sichuan Ilevik Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. exhibited "Neijiang" electric cars, tourist cars and patrol police cars. General manager Xing Gang introduced that in the past, Ilevik used to produce electric sightseeing vehicles. In July this year, he began to get involved in research and development of electric cars and electric buses.

BYD New Energy Automobile also set up its booth at the Western Expo. Two months ago, Warren Buffett subscribed 225 million BYD shares, because he believes BYD is leading the world in the development of electric vehicles.

"Elephants" Dance Steps: Electric and Hydrogen Powered Vehicles

Zhang Junyi, deputy secretary-general of the Provincial Automobile Engineering Marketing Committee, believes that the development of new energy vehicles will face many challenges: the constraints of traditional consumer concepts, market consumption channels, industry support, technology, and after-sales services...

Challenges and opportunities are all world-wide. "Elephants" or "ants" cannot avoid them.

In Japan, the country with the most advanced research and application of new energy vehicles, a “green tax system” will be implemented from April 1, 2009. Purchases including pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and clean diesel vehicles can enjoy various tax incentives. The three types of vehicles were defined by the Japanese government as "next generation cars."

Shi Mengde, general manager of the Quality Management Center of the German Automobile Industry Association, said that the quality certification standards for new energy vehicles in Germany are gradually emerging and they are conducting research with Chinese auto companies and associations.

On August 19 this year, the German government promulgated the National Electric Vehicle Development Plan. According to this plan, in the next 10 years, Germany will firmly grasp the three key factors of electric vehicle engine technology, battery technology and charging network to promote research and market preparation.

At present, several German car companies, such as Daimler-Benz, BMW, and Volkswagen, are actively developing electric vehicles and are expected to introduce electric vehicles to the market by 2012 at the latest.

According to reports, apart from hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles, BMW also focuses on the development of "hydrogen powered cars." On Berlin's main street, there have been automobile refuelling stations established by the "Energy Partnership of Germany".

Shi Mengde said that Germany has already planned to participate in the development of a world standard system for new energy vehicles. “The standards will be formed and the automobile industry will be foreseeable in the future. China should participate.”

"Ant" Dances: Seizing Highlands with Core Intellectual Property

"In the research and development of new energy vehicles, China and the world are starting from the same time." Cao Guodong said that in terms of core technology, especially in the field of new energy passenger vehicles, China's electric vehicle technology is more advanced. At present, domestic enterprises and research institutions have mastered the core intellectual property rights of hybrid and pure electric power systems.

However, there are still difficulties in the development of new energy vehicles in China. “Large companies have formed production capacity in the traditional automotive industry, and they dare not take risks. They are not active in new energy vehicles; in joint ventures, it is impossible to import new energy technologies.”

Therefore, new energy vehicles have become an inevitable choice for “small ants” such as Sichuan Steam, and they are therefore expected to gain the opportunity to stand on the center of the future automobile stage.

In 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission set 13 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing, as demonstration cities for energy-saving and new energy vehicles. Chengdu is trying to apply for membership.

Not long ago, the "Sichuan Provincial Automobile Industry Adjustment and Revitalization Action Plan (2009-2011)" was promulgated, which clearly proposed the implementation of the new energy vehicle development strategy and listed a series of new energy vehicle R&D timetables.

The newly introduced Chengdu "new energy industry development plan", new energy vehicles impressively in the list. Chengdu has the advantage of developing new energy vehicles: The Chengdu Institute of Organics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has mastered the core technology of lithium-ion battery production, and the country's leading battery separator manufacturing technology; coupled with Sichuan's abundant rare earth and lithium mineral resources, the nickel will be used for new energy vehicles. Hydrogen, lithium-ion power batteries provide raw materials. By 2012, Chengdu will form a production capacity of 20,000 new energy vehicles.

According to Cao Guodong, Sichuan Steam is involved in the construction of the world's largest single-cell, solid-state polymer-powered battery production base in Chengdu Shuangliu, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 AH lithium batteries, which will provide support for the development of electric vehicles.

Xing Gang said that Ilevik will also take advantage of the development of Sichuan's solar photovoltaic industry to prepare for the development of solar cells.

With the start and development of new energy vehicles, the world has formed a "symbiotic circle." This time, "Elephants" and "Ants" stood together at the center of the stage. Who would jump out of the most beautiful dance?
